"Up and Down"
This is the second piece of music I offer a new guitar student. The melody consists of only 3 different tones, the open first, second and third string (e, b and g). But nevertheless it sounds good. As a teacher you can once more concentrate on the pupils right hand and so can the pupil.
Again: Easy to play and fun to be part of the complete sound of a piece in this early state of getting into playing a new instrument.
Be sure to have listend several times to the "listen"-version of the piece until you are familiar with the melodie. Then you will need the score of the song only as a kind of reverens source. You can do it now without your eyes on the paper and have the possibility to catch the music with your ears while playing. Further more it is also a good way to transfer the melody that is now stored in your head to the instrument and make it audible.
